Fallen warriors in Valhöll who train for Ragnarök.
The einherjar are the chosen warriors whom valkyries collect from the battlefield and bring to Valhöll. There they spend their days fighting one another and their nights feasting and drinking mead in Óðinn's great hall.
Their purpose is to prepare for the final battle at Ragnarök, when they will fight alongside the gods against the giants and the Fenrir wolf. They embody the warrior ideal in Old Norse culture and the heroic fate in death.
