Baldr is described as the most beautiful and wisest of the Æsir. He lives at Breiðablik. His judgements are always just and he shines with his own radiance.
The second son of Odin is Baldr, and there is good to say of him. He is the best and all praise him. He is so fair in appearance and so bright that a radiance shines from him, and one plant is so white that it is compared to Baldr's eyelashes. It is the whitest of all plants, and from this you may judge his beauty, both in hair and body. He is the wisest of the Æsir, the most beautifully spoken, and the most merciful. But one quality accompanies him: no judgement he makes can be overturned. He lives in the place called Breiðablik. That is in the heavens. Nothing unclean may be there.

Breiðablik is that place where Baldr has had halls built for himself; on that land which I know to lie farthest from treacherous staves.
